چکیده

The study considers a method for forming stiffened monolithic panels by local deformation of the panel ribs. is caused bending moments along rib towards each other. goal to numerically model process utilizing designed local-impact tool and analyze its effects on panel, obtaining which experimentally challenging. finite element (FEM) modeling performed in ANSYS validated experimental made an aluminum alloy analogous Al 2024. Simulation results provide deformation, stress, strain distributions loaded unloaded states various cases. Furthermore, length, width, parameters such as applied force couples single versus successive are investigated discussed. Performed demonstrates advantages with terms low residual stresses their distribution. Finally, analysis suggests future modification tool, particularly shape grips, minimize stress concentrations.

Shape Forming by Cutting and Deforming Operations

In this paper, an implementation of visual and haptic feedback of deforming and cutting operations is discussed. In the implementation of the deforming operation, the surface shape is represented by a geometric model while the physical reaction is simulated using a spring model. The deformation of the spring model is reflected onto the geometric model by using the interpolation technique. In th...

Failure Modeling of Thermoplastic Butt-Joint Stiffened Panels by Quasi-Static Loading

In this work the quasi-static response of thermoplastic butt-joint stiffened beam in bending conditions is modeled. In these panels, the stiffener is connected to the skin by a shortfiber reinforced filler. Although this type of connection performs very well in a pull-off loading (fracture loading is 10 times higher than welded connection), optimization is required regarding its impact performa...

Fracture Analysis of the Faa/nasa Wide Stiffened Panels

This paper presents the fracture analyses conducted on the FAA/NASA stiffened and unstiffened panels using the STAGS (STructural Analysis of General Shells) code with the critical crack-tip-opening angle (CTOA) fracture criterion. The STAGS code with the “plane-strain” core option was used in all analyses. Previous analyses of wide, flat panels have shown that the high-constraint conditions aro...

A Strategy for a Robust Design of Cracked Stiffened Panels

This work is focused on the numerical prediction of the fracture resistance of a flat stiffened panel made of the aluminium alloy 2024 T3 under a monotonic traction condition. The performed numerical simulations have been based on the micromechanical Gurson-Tvergaard (GT) model for ductile damage. The applicability of the GT model to this kind of structural problems has been studied and assesse...
